The Nigerian movie industry is saddened by the news of Murphy Afolabi’s death. The popular Yoruba actor, aged 49, passed away earlier today at his home. Renowned film director and producer, Tunde Ola-Yusuf, confirmed the sad news on his Facebook page this Sunday afternoon.
“Rest in peace. May God grant strength to the family and close associates during this difficult time,” he wrote.

Just over a week ago, on Friday, May 5, Murphy celebrated his birthday. He began his career with the movie “Ifa Olokun,” guided by Dagunro, and went on to feature in and produce numerous others.[ez-toc]
