About You and the Role
The Procurement Analyst for Africa will work with facility heads and the strategic finance team to cut costs and improve Zipline procurement.
Our operations include procurement of supplies and contract negotiations. The procurement analyst will manage procurement processes, ensure timely delivery of supplies, minimize operational costs, and understand CAPEX, OPEX, high-level procurement, strategic planning, and budget management.
Your expertise will enable efficient resource allocation, cost containment, and informed decisions that support our long-term business goals.
What Will You Do?
- Cost Control: Help control buying costs by maintaining aggregated plans for each country and negotiating attractive contracts.
- Collaboration with Facility Leads: Work closely with facility leads to understand their specific procurement needs and requirements. By creating strong communication lines and coordinating procurement activities with the facilities team, you can ensure that purchasing decisions meet operational needs while minimizing expenses.
- Strategic Finance Team Alignment: Collaborate with the strategic finance team to align procurement efforts with financial goals. Create cost-control measures, analyze procurement spending data, and estimate future procurement requirements. This ensures that Zipline’s purchase decisions are consistent with its financial plans.
- Supplier Sourcing and Relationship Management: Develop and maintain connections with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of supplies and favorable conditions. Build strong supplier partnerships, write contracts, and evaluate supplier performance to reduce risks and improve procurement outcomes.
Qualifications Required
- At least 7 years of experience in procurement or equivalent roles, ideally in the logistics or technology sectors.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and implement cost-cutting measures.
- Strong data collection, analytics, and reporting skills. Proficiency with computer systems and procurement software.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, best practices, and effective sourcing methods.
- Experience mentoring and guiding teams.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while collaborating cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business goals.
