AAHPM International Physicians Scholarship Awards for Developing Countries in 2023

The AAHMP International Physician Scholarship Awards were established to give physicians from low- and middle-income countries (as defined by the World Bank) simple access to high-quality education so they may participate in the Annual Assembly.

This scholarship program offers financial assistance (up to $5,000) to scholarship recipients to pay registration fees, travel-related expenditures, such as airfare, taxi fares, meals, and lodging, as well as any costs associated with attending the Annual Assembly. Scholarship recipients will receive access to the most recent clinical data and research updates in hospice and palliative care from top authorities in the field at the Annual Assembly.

The AAHPM International Physicians Scholarship Awards for Developing Countries, 2022, eligibility requirements

Doctors who practice hospice and palliative medicine and take care of patients with critical illnesses are eligible for scholarships. As required by the World Bank, qualified physicians must maintain permanent residence in low- and middle-income nations. We think that the scholarship recipients will use the information they learned at the Annual Assembly to advance palliative care options back home.

Candidates who meet the following requirements will be taken into consideration:

You have never attended the Annual Assembly before.
Those whose organizations are thought to be least able to provide this opportunity, a junior in their career with 2-10 years of experience predominantly in palliative care, including a resident or fellow, and
The process for applying to the scholarship program

The International Physician Scholarship for 2021 won’t have a call for applications. The Annual Assembly of Hospice and Palliative Care was postponed due to the COVID-19 virus, so the scholarship recipients for 2020 will now attend the 2022 conference instead.

Important Information

The recipients of the successful awards must provide a written report outlining how attending the annual assembly benefited their company.

Additionally, by December 2022, scholarship winners must have their own US visa.
