Nigerian rapper, Falz, whose real name is Folarin Falana, has criticized the Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his gratitude message to Lagosians after his re-election victory.
Sanwo-Olu had expressed his appreciation on Twitter, after winning the governorship election held on March 18, where he garnered 762,134 votes to defeat Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party and Jandor of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

He posted photos of himself and his party members celebrating after his re-election and wrote,
Thank you Lagosians!
I am deeply humbled and grateful for the overwhelming support and trust of the good people of Lagos State.
I am honored to be re-elected as your Governor and pledge to continue to work tirelessly to deliver a better Lagos for all.Thank you for believing in me.
I have personally penned my thoughts in a letter to you. I hope you read it and truly feel my passion for Lagos and for you
These elections have deeply tested us as a people. This victory is not just mine, but it belongs to every Lagosian.
However, Falz, along with many others, was displeased with the tweet due to the reported incidents of intimidation, tribal discrimination, and thuggery allegedly committed by the ruling party during the election.
In the light of this, Falz, reacting to Sanwo-Olu’s tweet, wrote,
“You were not re-elected. You selected yourself. Everybody saw it unfold. You are only deceiving yourselves.”
