Nigerian musician, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has addressed those who are trying to regulate her dress choices.
It is well-known that she has been under intense examination and disapproval for her preference for revealing clothing since she became famous at the age of 20, following her signing to Mavin Records, owned by Don Jazzy.

Her choice of attire in photos, music videos, and during performances has frequently resulted in harsh criticism and backlash, with many people expressing their disapproval of her revealing outfits.
During a recent interview with Kiss FM, London, Ayra Starr responded to the controversy surrounding her fashion style by urging her critics to refrain from sharing their opinions, stating that they are neither her pastor nor her mother.
The ‘Rush’ crooner made this comment,
“You are not my pastor, you are not Jesus, you are not my mother, so keep it to yourself. I don’t wanna know. I don’t give a damn.”
In a recent interview with Saturday Beats, Ayra Starr shared her belief that female artists are often held to different standards than male artists, a sentiment she had previously expressed some time ago.
In her words;
“I am grateful to the women who came before me, who paved the way. Because of them, I am not dealing with them so much. However, there is still the issue of female artists being scrutinized more than their male colleagues. Female artists are not held to the same standards as the males.”
