“Why must women always be the ones letting go after marriage?” – A feminist queries Rita Dominic’s Instagram surname change.

Dinah Antwiaa Twumasi, a feminist from Ghana, has questioned why powerful and popular women have to adopt their husband’s lastname after getting married.
Dinah raised this issue on twitter after famous actress, Rita Dominic, modified her instagram bio to incorporate her husband’s last name, Anosike, a few hours after their wedding.
Recall that over the weekend, Rita Dominic and her husband, Daily Times publisher Fidelis Anosike, had their white wedding in England.

Shortly after the event, Online researchers noticed that Rita Dominic had changed her Instagram bio to include her husband’s last name.

Dinah, a self-described feminist, responded to this by questioning why women are constantly required to give up some areas of their own lives after marriage.
In a now-deleted tweet, she wrote, ”Just hours after her white wedding, a household name, a global brand Rita Dominic is now called Mrs. Fidelis Anosike! Why, why must women always have to be the ones letting go after marriage?”
