Earlier today, Napji took to social media to publicly call out Davido, alleging that the singer had not paid him royalties and publishing rights for his work on three songs from Davido’s 2020 album, “A Better Time.”
According to Napji, he produced the hit tracks “Fem,” “Jowo,” and “Sunlight” but was only compensated with 500,000 Naira for his contributions to these global hits.
In response to Napji’s claims, Davido chose not to address the allegations directly. Instead, he lashed out at the music producer, showering him with heavy curses.
This incident has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with many criticizing Davido for his unprofessional behavior. Some fans have expressed disappointment in Davido, calling on him to apologize and address the issue with more tact.
Reactions:
• @adxjnr: “Don’t mind him 001, how person go still Dey expect Royalty from ABT, no pay any shishi abeg.”
• @Bigdraxxx7: “Him papa don kpaaaaaiiiiiii.”
• @TheFelix__: “Dis one go use hin own hand look for wahala.”
• @thefilmbox1: “This is callous from a so-called celebrity. That you’re a celebrity (and my fave unfortunately) doesn’t give you the right to abandon morality. The man says you owe him, the best you could’ve done is handle the situation with a little level of decorum.”
• @aystickz: “Davido look between Z and P on your keyboard.”
• @kayzywizzzy: “This is a very unprofessional thing to say OBO you should apologize to your fans so you don’t get cancelled, no offense.”
The situation is developing, and fans are eagerly awaiting Davido’s next move in response to the backlash.
