Following the bizarre collision between a train and BRT bus that happened in Lagos this morning, a video of patients being treated on the ground outside the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has gone viral.
The accident, which happened early on March 9 along the Fajuyi Adekunle Way in the Ikeja district of the state, resulted in a number of fatalities, and those who survived were critically injured and required emergency medical attention.
Videos posted online showed hospital employees placing foam in an open area while some sufferers lie on the foam.
According to information obtained, the hospital was forced to take this action since the facility lacked adequate beds to accommodate the sufferers.

Around 82 persons were injured in the accident and taken to LASUTH, according to Nosa Okunbor, a spokeswoman for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), who was speaking about the tragedy.
Adebayo Taofiq, a spokesman for the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), noted that although the bus involved in the collision was similar to the state’s standard BRT buses, it was actually a staff bus owned by the Lagos state government.
