The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has denied claims that the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka MohBad, was poisoned in their custody.

In a statement on Saturday, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said that MohBad was not one of the Marlian Music acts arrested by the agency in 2022. He shared a link to a news article that detailed the arrest of six other people, including two females and four males, in February 2022.

Babafemi also tweeted a denial, saying that the claims of MohBad being poisoned or detained by the agency are false. He said that he hopes the people spreading these claims will be able to defend them when they are caught.

Babafemi’s statement comes after a video of MohBad weeping in a hospital went viral. In the video, MohBad claimed that he was harassed and given a white substance to consume. He said that he was the only one who drank it, and that he was then told to go home while the others were kept. He also claimed that he was hit on the head with a gun.
