In 2019, a Kenyan chef embarked on a non-stop cooking marathon lasting 75 hours, aiming to surpass the Guinness World Record.
Now, Chef Maliha Mohammad, hailing from Mombasa, Kenya, has made a comeback to challenge Hilda Baci’s existing record. This remarkable event took place at Kenya Bay Beach Resort in Mombasa on Sunday, August 18, 2019.

Despite the efforts made by Chef Maliha Mohammad in 2019, his record-breaking cooking attempt was not officially recognized by the Guinness World Record. Instead, in September of that year, Indian chef Lata Tondon managed to break the record with an impressive cooking time of 87 hours and 45 minutes.
However, a new contender has emerged in the form of Hilda Baci, a Nigerian chef and food blogger. Hilda recently cooked for a staggering 100 hours in Lagos, Nigeria, with the goal of establishing a new record. The confirmation of her achievement by the Guinness World Record is still pending.
It’s worth mentioning that Hilda garnered significant attention on the internet when she made her remarkable record-breaking attempt, dominating the social media trend charts for four consecutive days.
In an exciting turn of events, Chef Maliha has recently revealed her ambitious intention to surpass the existing cooking record on August 11, 2023.
In an online video, Chef Maliha announced her current training efforts to accomplish a remarkable feat. She expressed her determination not only to surpass Hilda Baci’s record but also to conquer the record for the “home kitchen cooking marathon” by November.
