“Is this supposed to be funny?” – Netizens blast actor Alexx Ekubo as he makes fun of colleague Chioma Akpotha’s ordeal during presidential election, she reacts

Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo received criticism on social media recently for a joke that appeared harmless.

Prior to the governorship and house of assembly elections on Saturday, he shared a humorous video on his Instagram page featuring a flexible man, and referenced colleague Chioma Akpotha’s experience during the presidential election in February.

During that election, Chioma and other voters were attacked by thugs at their polling unit.

Ekubo’s caption jokingly referred to his own preparations to defend Jandor/Funke Akindele’s votes in Lagos and tagged Chioma Akpotha, poking fun at her reaction to the attack.

“Nobody. Me: prepping to count & protect #JandorFunke votes tomorrow. @chiomakpotha come & see how to defend votes here no be to put hand for face dey shout I was attacked, I can’t beeleeve this”, he captioned the post.

While Chioma responded with laughter and called him a “native goat,” some social media users were unhappy with Alexx Ekubo post and criticized him for it.
