The Theatre Art and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Osun State chapter, expressed profound shock over the passing of Murphy Afolabi, a beloved Nollywood actor known as Maroof Afolabi.
TAMPAN members initially found it difficult to believe the news of his demise.

Adedayo Adeyemi, the Secretary of TAMPAN in Osun, stated that the family of the late Afolabi would announce details regarding his burial.
He further mentioned that TAMPAN members have been instructed to gather in Osogbo on Monday for further updates and guidance.
Adeyemi expressed the collective grief of TAMPAN members, highlighting that Murphy Afolabi was a prominent Nollywood star from Osun State, and his sudden death has deeply affected the local community.
During a visit to Fetuata’s Compound in Osogbo, the hometown of the late actor, residents, particularly the youth, were engaged in quiet conversations about Afolabi’s untimely demise.
It was noted that some members of the actor’s immediate family had not yet been informed about the tragic event at the time of the visit.
When approached for comments, those residing in the compound, including members of the family, chose not to openly discuss the situation, indicating the sensitivity and impact of the news on their lives.
