Method of Application
Follow these steps to apply:
- Research: Start by looking into Canadian institutions via the Universities Canada website. Check each university’s website for information about their doctoral programs and potential research supervisors.
- Quota Check: Consult the Vanier CGS quota page to ensure your chosen institution has a quota for your application year.
Competition Process:
- Initiation: You either inform the faculty at your chosen institution about your intent to apply, or the institution contacts you to start the nomination.
- Application Preparation: Prepare your application and submit it to your nominating institution by their internal deadline through ResearchNet.
- Internal Selection: The institution conducts its internal selection process.
- Forwarding: The institution sends the selected nominations to the Vanier-Banting Secretariat by November 1, 2024 (8:00 PM Eastern Time).
- Review: The Secretariat reviews the applications.
- Final Decision: The Tri-Agency Programs (TAP) Steering Committee makes the final decisions.
- Notification: Nominated candidates will be notified of the results in April 2025.
