Following her defeat in the Lagos state governorship election held on February 18, Nollywood actress and politician Funke Akindele has chosen not to publicly react and has removed all political posts from her social media page.
Funke Akindele was the running mate of the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor), who came third with 62,449 votes.

The incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was declared the winner of the election with 762,134 votes.
Funke’s decision to remove all political posts from her Instagram profile within six hours of the announcement suggests that she has accepted the defeat.
Only personal photos and movie promotion posts remain on her Instagram page.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu won Funke Akindele’s polling unit located at Ita Aro square, Àga/Ijimu ward in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The polling unit’s results showed that the APC garnered 77 votes, the PDP secured 19 votes, and the Labour Party received 3 votes.
