Responsibilities:
As a member of the Youth Summit Steering Committee, your main responsibility will be overseeing the planning and execution of the Youth Summit 2025. You’ll be working closely with other committee members to make sure the Summit is a success, and your efforts will play a significant role in empowering youth to tackle some of the world’s most urgent challenges.
Eligibility:
To be considered, you must be 35 years old or younger by June 30, 2025. You should also have at least a one-year contract with the World Bank Group or the IMF. It’s important to note that certain positions are exclusively available to WBG employees.
About the WBG Youth Summit:
The WBG Youth Summit is an annual event that gathers young people aged 18-35 from across the globe to engage in discussions on key development topics. Managed by young professionals within the WBG, the Summit’s mission is to empower youth, encourage dialogue, and promote innovative solutions to global issues. Previous Summits have focused on themes like youth entrepreneurship, climate change, and inclusive growth.
Structure of the Summit:
The Youth Summit spans two days and includes plenary sessions, workshops, and a global pitch competition, all centered around a particular development theme. Participants have the option to attend in person in Washington, DC, join virtually through a closed platform, or contribute via a regional office.
