Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has taken to social media to express her anger at the Headies Awards organizers for snubbing the Best Female Artiste category during the awards ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia, on Sunday, September 3.
Ayra Starr, who was nominated for the award alongside other A-list singers such as Tems, Simi, and Tiwa Savage, was announced as the winner of the category. However, her award was not presented onstage, and the category was not even mentioned during the ceremony.

In a series of tweets, Ayra Starr expressed her disappointment and anger at the organizers, saying that they had “snubbed” the female artistes who work hard in the industry. She also said that she would never be grateful for winning an award that was not even announced on stage.
“I will never be grateful for winning a category that wasn’t even deemed fit to be announced on stage!” she tweeted. “Best female artist na beans? We work hard, every single one of us! I’ve seen Tiwa record 4 hit songs in the same night, Tems breaths and lives for music, we didn’t deserve such nonchalance!”
Ayra Starr’s anger has been echoed by many of her fans and fellow artistes, who have taken to social media to criticize the Headies Awards organizers. The organizers have yet to respond to the criticism.
