This programme is designed to recruit young professionals from across the globe, bringing in talent with diverse academic and professional experiences relevant to the operations of the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).
The YPP is a two-year leadership development programme that kicks off a five-year employment contract with the World Bank, IFC, or MIGA.
What the Programme Involves
Those selected for the programme will start their journey in Washington, DC, where they’ll undergo rigorous training—both on the job and in the classroom. This training is focused on the fundamentals of leadership and development operations across the various institutions within the World Bank Group.
The organisers of the YPP explain that participants are full-time employees who contribute significantly to the work of their assigned units. They also get the opportunity to build networks and expand their knowledge across the entire Bank Group.
Additionally, YPP participants frequently join field missions, allowing them to work on the frontlines of World Bank Group operations. This hands-on experience offers them a chance to learn the core aspects of the Bank’s work while directly interacting with clients.
