Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for this fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a graduate or post-graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) or be enrolled in a PhD program at a recognized institution at the time of application. Recent graduates are also eligible. The FAO only accepts qualifications from institutions listed in the World Higher Education Database (WHED), maintained by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO.
  • Possess at least two years of relevant work or research experience in one of FAO’s fields.
  • Have proficiency in at least one FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish). Knowledge of a second FAO language is advantageous.
  • Be a national of an FAO member country.
  • Be adaptable to an international, multicultural environment and possess strong communication skills.
