10-Year-Old Nigerian Boy Wins Toyota Dream Car Art Contest with Waste Converter Design

A 10-year-old Nigerian boy has won the top prize in the international Toyota Dream Car Art Contest 2022-2023. Oluwademilade Odumuboni, a student at Corona School in Gbagada, Lagos, beat out 782,852 other students from 90 countries to win the grand prize of $5,000, a plaque, and a certificate.

Odumuboni’s winning design is a waste converter that can turn trash into food and water. The judges were impressed by the originality and creativity of his design, as well as its potential to help solve environmental problems.

In a statement, Odumuboni said that he was inspired to create his design after seeing the amount of waste that is produced every day. He said that he wanted to create a way to turn that waste into something useful.

“I hope that my design will help to reduce pollution and make the world a better place,” he said.

Odumuboni’s school, Corona School, also received a prize of $10,000. The school’s principal, Mr. Olusegun Ogunsanya, said that he was proud of Odumuboni’s achievement.

“This is a great achievement for Oluwademilade and for Corona School,” he said. “We are very proud of him.”
